No, don't get me wrong, Hagar.

The point is not that it does or doesn't offend me.  The point is that if I were to have a contrary image displayed, I would most definitely be told to remove it.

This was also the point I was making with the pope thread.  I'm not even fricken Catholic, so I wasn't offended by the subject.  What bothered me was that the wish of death on a human being was being completely tolerated.  Then when I spoke up, I was the one who was in the wrong.

I don't care what people's beliefs are.  The only thing we really pretty much agree on is that FS is a pretty cool creation...I know that.  But if you're going to jump on the guy who speaks the contrary opinion, we sure as hell should be going after the guy who puts up the first opinion.

Which he theoretically would (sans all the technicalities about it being a private board, etc.)

But using that model, then so would I.  Yet I was the one who was given crap about "getting upset".

I've gotta send you a PM, because I'm not going to throw someone under the bus when I honestly don't have a problem.  But I need to illustrate my point.  (To that person, please forgive me!)

As usual I find myself agreeing with Hagar's stance...

This is probably not unusual as neither of us are  "young men" anymore, the old school of Hard Knocks tends to give you a different perspective on life.    I read these pages daily and have found very little to give offence, apart from occasional examples of complete stupidity.    Before I rush into print and add fuel to the fire, I remind myself what the site is all about and the help I've gained over the years into my sedentary hobby.    After that I usually decide "what the hell" and leave them to it.

I think it would be fair to say that there isn't a single site on the WWW that doesn't have wreckers, loonies and disrupters - someone recently posted an example of just how bad it can get.

It totally escapes me why I would want to discuss any aspect on the life of the Pope (as an example) on a site that is devoted to FlightSimming and this is where I see the problem.

Nuff said Bazza, pass the valium....

Last time-

I'm not offended by someone's beliefs if they differ from mine.  I'm offended by being labelled the trouble-making bad guy for speaking with an opposing voice.

Reasons that discussions are going out of hand
Its hot outside
people are having exams, and need a way to relieve the pressure
Most of us need a few weeks off...

I think the mods should ask people what they think and then make a new set of rules and have a zero tolerence policy if someone breaks the rules!
