C130 flyby

Postby BFMF » Tue Jun 28, 2005 9:11 am

Last week, I was working outside (I work just acrossed the road from the airport, almost under the traffic pattern) and I noticed a larger aircraft in the distance. I remember thinking to myself that it looked a little large. It was too far to identify but since I was busy I didn't think about it and went inside for a couple minutes. As I was walking out of the building, I heard a noise and looked up. It was an USAF C-130 on final for our little airport! :o

It didn't land, but it did overfly the runway really low. 8)

Yesterday, I went in and asked my Flight instructor and she told me that one of the guys who works there has a son who is a pilot in the Air Force and likes to 'buzz' the airport every once in a while

Cool! I live pretty close to a Natl. Guard base, and I see C-130s all the time. I finally went out there and watched them land one day, and I must say they sure do have an impressive sound.

And just where are the pictures, Andrew? ::)

Theres a government C-130 that flys around the Lehigh Valley in Pennsie a lot. I dunno what it's doing. It keeps circling around, so I assume it's weather or training or something. It's neat though 'cos the area is so wide-open and you can see him from a distance. Great fun driving down the highway. :)

Sure sure...

I was on the rooftop of my work building when the B-17 Yankee lady flew over and I managed to throw myself down the ladder run to my truck and grab my camera and snap a nice picture of the tree across the way as the plane dissapears behind the tree........

LOL, it is quite interesting to see them out of their normal contect isn't it? :)

It's kind of a construction job, so carrying a camera around while working is impractical, and would get in the way. Besides, my boss would probably frown on it ::) ;)
