Considering the things that lately have been found to be so terribly unhealthy It's a wonder that humans have survived to this point.
Take for example exposure to sunlight. Last I heard an expert and researcher was saying that "ANY EXPOSURE" was too much. They cautioned people to wear long sleeved shirts and long pants with wide brimmed hats and to smother the exposed parts of their skins in sunblock of the highest SPF available.
Sodium is a culprit in heart disease. Cholesterol will kill you. Smoking is the worst thing since self gratification. Read your history on that some time and notice the simularities. It was said to produce everything including mental retardation.
Yet with all this stuff people of the past were totally unconcious of their health. They smoked. They ate salt pork and had mounds of scrambled eggs with it. The worked and played in the sun without regard to the damage they were doing and somehow we survived. We even flourished and became the dominant species on the planet.
In fact from what I remember people were much more healthy in past days. Some of the pampered people nowdays would scream if they had to walk more than half a mile. Look at old pictures and paintings of kids playing in the sun at the watering hole. You won't see hardly any that are obese. My grandfather and grandmother lived well into their 90s and were much more healthy in their later years than middle age people are now. I remember my grandmother out splitting kindling at 85.
Makes me wonder about the veracity of the health advice the "experts" propound.
