Class and Crap. Makes me glad i am a Broncos fan. Might be a local paper but it states facts which cant be argued with.

It's the same Micheal Jordan-Dennis Rodman crap, but in football.  Rodman was a showboat attention getter, while Jordan was business and all cool.  Jordan will be remembered as one of the greatest players ever.  Rodman will probably be forgotten in ten years.

 Athletes should get paid like $10.00 - $12.00 an hour to start, just like normal people, if they do good they get raises each year, if they don't do good they get fired and start over somewhere else, top pay should be around $20.00 an hour, they need an attendance policy too, if they don't show up, they don't get paid, too many no-shows and they get fired.

 Seems simple to me.

Maybe, but they only 'work' for about an hour or two every few nights, plus practice. That would be a sucky paying job at $20/hour....

Nice article, never really liked TO anyways, this just gives me more reasons not to.

All they do is run around for a couple hours a night and during the training camps and such, is that worth $50 million over 7 years?

sorry beef. I knew this might be touchy subject fpr you. But look at it this way. You may not even have TO on your team this year, that would bring the eagles reputation right up.

Interesting that I have found that in the Collage Football players need something like a 2.0 GPA in order to play, in High School that would be considered failing and to think I busted my butt to maintain and graduate with a 4.0 and I'm unable to earn a decent wage or even had the chance  to get in college all because I focused on my education instead of throwing a ball.

I agree with Paz. If it worked like that, the games would probably be even more interesting, because the players would only be there because they like to play, not just so they can get rich and retire. Ive never had much interestin pro sports, it just bothers me to know that these guys get payed to play a game.

No problem.  To be honest, whether he plays or not, it's not going to affect the rep of the team as a whole-TO always has been kind of a "seperate entity".

Guys.  Football players (all pro sports players, for that matter) have a job that requires an immense amount of skill, hard work, dedication and sacrifice.  They beat their bodies up every single week for five months straight (preseason), and they are, in the end, entertainers who are very good at what they do.  Should they be raking in $50,000,000 a year? No. $20/hour? No.  Somewhere inbetween should work just fine.
