Do you remember the episode of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" when John Cleese was teaching a self-defense course.  He said "What are you going to do when someone comes at you with a banana!!??"  He had a student come up and charge at him with a banana and he either shot the student or dropped the 16 tons weight on him.
