What annoys me Doug is that these popular theories are taught to our kids as undeniable fact.  The issues get worse as the child becomes older.

I can clearly recal in my first 'A' Level chemistry lesson my teacher told us to forget all we had learned for GCSE on molecular structure as it was outdated and thus no longer applied in modern science.  My world view was thus altered in that one lesson.
