I'm no "expert" but as I mentioned earlier I don't think fear of heights & fear of flying are related. Plenty of highly experienced pilots have a fear of heights. I'm sure some steeplejacks, trapeze artists & even skyscraper construction workers who happily wander around balanced on narrow girders 100s of feet above the ground are terrified of setting foot in an aeroplane.

Well, I associated the two as the same. When I think of flying, being up high is the first thing that comes to mind. But, I do see what you are saying. May very well explain why I'm calmer in a plane than say on a 100ft chip silo we have here at work.
Falling doesn't kill you, just the impact.

Afraid of flying: Never
Afraid of heights: Nope

   For as long as i can remember i was raised around airplanes.  My farther has two airplanes at the moment: one is a Harmon Rocket 200+mph and a Cessna 170 with a 180 motor convertion with three blade prop.  I belive It is the only one in the states that is certified.  The 170 is are over sized super cub.  This plane has been driven off cliffs to water skipping .  We just got the rocket and so far the plane itself is crazy.  I will post some pics of the 170 later.
   My father has crashed a plane in his life nearly kill him,  but thats not stoping him from his hobby.  The plane he crashed was a PA 18 super cub.
