Yes some ABC stations had the balls too air the movie but my local station didn't and recieved a letter form me. In place of the movie they decided it would be more benificial to air a rerun of Oprah (of all things!)
Here is what really burns my ass.
Censorship is a way of removing one of my rights as a American,
Saving Private Ryan is a ,movie about the men and women that fought and died for me to have that right,
Veterans Day is a day that we reflect on and remember those who served (are serving) to protect those rights and who allow us to have the freedoms we have.
The action by most ABC stations is in fact a slap in the face of all who served . And on Veterans Day no less!!!
I'm so sick and tired of everyone one trying to "protect" me by making sure that I'm not offended in anyway.
And especially those who feel they must "protect the children" , bullsh*t!!! It is the parents responsibility to "protect thier children" not the FCC, ABC, Government etc.
It is real easy to change a channel if something you deem inappropriate comes on, but it isn't easy to accept the fact that men and women died to give you that right to even own a TV.
The only way you can stop the FCC is not to bow down too them all that ABC did is help tighten the noose around our necks and give more power to the FCC.
Great way of showing respect to our Veterans.
