Driver Sees Red and Torches His Car

Thu Oct 21,11:47 AM ET   Oddly Enough - Reuters

TEHRAN (Reuters) - An incensed Iranian motorist doused his car in petrol and set it ablaze with a match after picking up a parking ticket, media reported Wednesday.

The ISNA student news agency posted photographs of the charred shell of the car on its Web site and quoted witnesses describing the driver's frantic but fruitless pleas to the parking attendant not to issue a ticket.

"Extremely angry, he took a jerrycan of petrol out of the boot and set fire to his car," ISNA quoted a witness in poor south Tehran as saying.

Fines have increased heavily since March in an attempt to bring Iran's reckless drivers into line. Road rage is common on the gridlocked streets of Tehran.

There's been times before when I really wanted to do something alon those lines, but never actually did...

Although there was the one time when we were working on my old car (86 Ford Escort....) replacing a fuel pump, and somehow we must have shorted a wire somewhere, cuz when we cranked it over we got a really bif spark and all the wires melted fairly quickly and a little gas caught fire.... :-) ;D

That was the end of that car...

I've felt like doing that every time I have to drive to school. To other people's cars though.  ;D
