RIP Superman

Postby ozzy72 » Mon Oct 11, 2004 2:43 am

I've just heard on the radio that Christoper Reeve has passed away, aged 52.
Well that is another major part of my childhood gone ::)

I had always hoped that despite the odds... he would have lived to walk again in his old age.

Condolences to his family.  While his acting career was great.... his post-accident spinal cord injury advocacy role was his starring moment.

May he rest in peace.

I woke up to this news this morning and was stunned.  I didn't realize he had gone into a coma on Saturday.  Don't think many did, actually.

I was at the grocery store this evening and the new "Readers Digest" is out.  (I don't read it, I just happened to catch it in the check out.)  On the cover was a photo of Mr. Reeve and I thought, "Wow, that was quick."  Upon closer inspection I saw that the article had to do not with his passing (it was printed long before today) but with his hope and determination.  How horribly ironic.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

Yes...it is truly a loss for the world.  He spoke for those who have very little voice.

Remember him when you find yourself annoyed with anyone who is handicapped (many people don't yield to people in wheelchairs, for example)
