going to oshkosh?

so i was waiting for my friends to come out of the local tea shop(girls, i will add) and i was sitting at a table, and i heard a very loud noise. i thought it was a garbage truck, but i looked up and to my delight....18 airplanes in formation. they sure as hell sounded like mustangs, and easily fit the description.  i know there are alot of stangs at oshkosh, but is there a group that flies together like this?

I can't answer your question but had to comment. If they were Mustangs this is the first time I've seen the sweet sound of 18 Merlins in formation compared to a garbage truck.

i've seen a photo on the web showing 11 Mustangs getting ready to line up at this years air venture...man i'd love to hear that!  8)
