Actually, the guy has made over 80 movies and is getting quite on in years now.  He is 68 years old!  :o  Silent Running used to be a favorite of mine, until Star Wars eclipsed it.  As much as I loved Star Wars, it seems to have killed intellectual sci-fi movies like this one...

Hi, Paul ;D,

Directed by Spielberg, I see...  At the site they say:

"but the real star is the truck. And just who is behind the wheel? Why Steven Spielberg, of course... "

I presume they mean this was one of his computer simulations, not that he literally was driving it...   ???

Cheers ;),

Doug

I doubt it was computer generated.  The film was Spielberg's first film and was made in the early 70's...

Dread Pirate said,

No doubt right; also, George Lucas was responsible for a lot of the computer effects in Spielberg movies.  It gets confusing after they started collaborating.  So maybe he was really driving the truck as the website says.  Coincidentally, Lucas started out as a race driver, during high school, but quit after a crash crushed his lungs  :o.

Well, I just saw it last Monday, but my favorite without doubt is "The Terminal."  Anything else with Tom Hanks in it I like.
