Might be Starting my Flying Lessons!

Postby Fly2e » Wed Jun 09, 2004 9:58 am

Well after a long wait, I think it is time. I recently went to my local airport to inquire about lessons. Now that I have given my wife two healthy children she says it's OK! LOL!!
Spoke to the instructor and he told me to come back and for $50, he will take me up in a Cessna and let me take the controls!
He gave me a few documents and a web site to visit. I did and now I am receiving mail everyday from AOPA, "The Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association", Cessna & The King School of Flying. I even received a free CD Rom on the basics of flying. All this stuff is really getting me excited to finally do this.
Just thought I would let you guys know and I will keep you informed on what is happening!

Good luck Dave. Once you take that trial flight there will be no turning back. I can almost guarantee it. Keep us informed of your progress. ;)

Hagar is tellin the truth, no turning back!!!
That is great to hear!
A new child, computer and flying lessons all in less than a month! WOW!!!!
The AOPA is great and the magazine you'll be getting is wonderful! You will learn more from it than any other magazine and when you become a member be sure to check out the web site!! Anything and everything about aviation!!
My favorite site besides here. I recommend everyone interested in aviation to join the AOPA even if they never intend on real life flying so much to learn there!

I agree with Fret. Being an AOPA member has been a valuable resource, and when my membership expires in a couple months, i'm gonna renew it

I would highly recommend it to all pilots

Hi Dave...Good Luck...Have Fun...Never Get Discouraged :)
Keep in mind the three most useless things to a Pilot are:
1...The air above you.
2...The runway behind you.
3...The fuel in the bouser (fuel truck).

Cheers...Happy Landings....Doug :)

Awesome Dave!  I took my intro flight last year and unfortunately have just had too much going on to continue as of late, but I plan on going again ASAP.

Also a quick FYI for you or anyone else interested.  There's a company called "Pilot Finance" that will finance your flight instruction.

Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

Just remember this one thing Dave......flight consists of three necessities........
  • Airspeed
  • Altitude
  • Attitude

If you run out of one, make sure that the remaining two, can allow you to make up for the missing one.............
Gravity is very demanding :o !
