You would not believe how long a runway I need when landing, and I don't want to wear out the brake pads, or scrub the rubbber off the expensive tyres on my Cessna 152... ::)...!
The numbers at the far end of the runway always appear VERY LARGE by the time I have come to a standstill... :o... :o... :o...!
LOL...!

Cheers all...;D...!

Hi jrpilot:

When things start to go wrong on a flight ..for example an engine failure....the two most useless things are:
(a) the air above you
         and
(b) the runway behind you

Cheers...Happy Landings....Doug :)

Nah I've designed these new special air-sick bags that are rather like a cross between a body-bag and a wetsuit, but keep the diced carrots on the inside ;D

Now that was a visual image I did NOT need.

Its funny this, when landing my Fairey Delta2 the letters at the end of the runway always seem very small when i've stopped moving. Sadly, thats because there a mile or so behind me... :P ;D :o

It makes you feel really tiny when you land a Cessna 182 on runway 9L at PBIA (in real life), which really is not that long, I can't imagine how small you feel landing a small plane on a 16,000ft runway :o.
