Local woman gives birth to sextuplets...

Postby flyboy 28 » Mon May 10, 2004 7:44 pm

Just found this interesting...

Kate Gosselin delivered the first baby at 7:51 a.m. Monday, and the last one at 7:54 a.m. Her obstetrician, Dr. John Botti, said the Caesarian section delivery went "as planned," and that all six infants are doing well.

They all weighed between roughly 2.5 and 3 pounds.

Gosselin and her husband, Jonathan, live in Wyomissing, Pa. They are also the parents of 3-year-old twins.

Kate was admitted to Hershey Medical Center in early March.

I am not a woman, but contemplating the pain she must have went through is mind boggling... :o

It's not all THAT rare.....if she already has twins, then she's genetically programmed for multiple births.  Factor that in with the fact that she was taking fertility drugs, and it's a winning combination...six times.

Good grief....I would not want to be in that house.  Not that there would be room.
Great edit, Bob.

From what little I know on the subject Scott is correct. Although sextuplets are quite rare, fertility treatment can often result in multiple births. Also, the fact they already have twins would make this even more likely. I'm sure the parents were well aware of this but 6 might be a little more than they bargained for. :o

It's no business of mine but as this couple already have 2 young children I wonder why they would need fertility treatment anyway. It's always struck me as an unfair twist of fate that people who deperately want children are often denied them while so many that don't want a child seem to have no problems at all. Nature works in mysterious ways. ::)

I could answer that, but that would break the "no politics" rule.   ;)

In that case I think No is an appropriate answer. ;)
