I've never been charged extra for a meal on a regular flight. Even got food & drink on a 40 minute trip to Paris with BA recently. I assume that's all included in the price of the ticket. I believe some of the UK budget airlines charge for food & drink but these are usually only short trips.

Mr Hagar most US airlines now charge for domestic meals and they can be rather pricey, however in return you get food thats been supplied by a chain of well known restaurants, instead of the usual reheated crap they serve.

Would this be on international or internal flights? I usually travel to the US on a US airline but it's been a few years since my last trip.

It's definitely overpriced.  On a recent trip to Las Vegas, they wanted $8 for a sandwich.

Now, I'm not exactly cheap.  If something is good, I'll spend more than I should on it.  But $8 for an airline sandwich....that's a bit much.
Great edit, Bob.

They had to euthanize the frog.  They don't know where it came from or what kind of goodies it was carrying. ;)
