LMAO silent!!!

I must say I have gotten great help from MS, and I got it working. Maybe I was one of the only people that got the help and solved but I speak from experience and MS has a good impression so far with me.

as for the License Agreement, lawayers read contracts, don't you read a contract ( which is what this pretty much is even though you don't sign ) before putting your name on a specific paper? Who knows? They might be promising Heaven but the signature is taking you to hell so I know this, in fact, and I agree to it taking my own risks and I could have happily stayed with 2004. If you don't agree with it, and so and so forth just don't install. Return to the store for a refund.

If I remember correctly 2002 CD case in the back said:

If you do not agree with End User License Agreement Return to the store for a refund

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't keep this policy for 2004!!!!!

The big problem I see here is that most stores have a return policy on PC games that you can only return it if it is unopened or if it defective you can exchange it for the same thing. I know from personal experiance with Best Buy right after christmas. I bought URU for my wife, and after opening it and reading about it I found that the online part was pay to play and returned it imediatlly. Spent an hour arguing with the worthless help they had until the store manager showed up and got an earfull from me. Only took me ten minutes to get her so tired of my bitching to get me what I wanted. As far as M$ support, I have never used it. Never needed it, every time I have a problem with something I post here about it and get it solved. Noone treats you like an idiot, and if you wait long enough you will get the right answer to solve your problem.

I am behind MS. (kinda like playing devils advocat  ;D )
They are a big company, and lots of people contact them every, and quite frankly 8/10 cases could be solved if the END USER had read the manuals a bit better.

Tell me Fretnstuff, how was it MS fault that your real world weather did not work the first time? I think it's your computer that should be blamed not Microsoft. Real world weather works for everybody else? I've never had issues with it? It worked after you re-installed the game again, with the same game discs and all...which proves it's not a malfunction of the Sim, correct?

Think of all the many platforms, hardware, software that the game must be compatibel with. It's ALOT. Of course some systems will run the sim better than others.

First of the weather didn't (doesn't) work for everone else!
I forgot to mention that the problem started with M$ SP1 service pack! Which caused me to uninstall and reinstal many programs including FS9. And not using the same set of discs. So no it wasn't my computer it was a M$ problem!!
But my main bitch is the customer service in general, I go to them for help and instead of helping they were first blaming my ISP, so I go to my ISP and they were blaming M$. So I'm stuck in a battle between two companies who instead of trying to help are putting the blame on each other this went on for over a week!!
It was then that I realized that FS9 wasn't they only program that wasn't connecting to the internet, all of my M$ programs failed to connect (notice I said all my Microsoft programs!!) any non-M$ software would connect to the internet with out problem. Once again not my computers fault!! Obviously a Microsoft problem!!
So how I fixed it was got rid of SP1, and any and all M$ updates and bought a new FS9 and reinstalled it. Works just fine now!! So if my computer is to blame I guess it dislikes M$ as much as myself and millions of others!
