Hi all you lads from over the pond.... 8)...!

..."Pumpkin Pie...."
Over here the only use we have for pumpkins is to hollow them out, (and throw the contents away), cut holes in them to look like a face, put a lighted candle inside, stick it on the table, spend hours looking at it, and celebrate Halloween...... ::)....!
(...that gives you some idea how crazy we are...)... ;)...!

So....
..."Pumpkin Pie..."
Can anyone out there give me the recipe to enable me to make one of these "delicious?" meals.... 8)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!
Paul.
(England).

P.S. Note: over here the reference to a "pie" involves using pastry to cover it... ;)...!

But seriously Andrew maybe you should consider youself as a non-carnivore rather than a vegetarian.

That's an excellent idea, thanks! :D

In the US pumpkin seeds are eaten like a snacks, much like Sunflower seeds are.  I'm not sure how they're processed, whether their dried or roasted, but they can be salted.

Wask as much of the pumkin slime of them, soak in a salty brine for 1-2 days, changing the brine on day two. Drain, lay out on a cookie sheet and roast in oven until the seeds are begaining to brown and a test seed is crunchy ;D Let them cool and enjoy!
