2 Q's. 1) how do you upload / set a java avatar
2) Can you lift such items out of other peoples webpages. If so, how.
I have always wanted 1.

If you mean can you pick up a picture from someone else's profile or from any Website. Yes. (But remember, some pitures are copyright - and for Christ's sake, lets not get into that again!................ ;D ;)

Just right click on it and select "save picture as" and save to your "My Pictures" folder. Then use it as you will.

Gifs & JPG's only please & ..

Please do not link to an image on another site as this can cause problems as the image is requested from another server. It can slow the whole forum down.

Please do not use Java or any other script.

Please keep sigs to 30K max & avatars to 10k max.

All this is important in terms of trying to keep things running smoothly. Remember it's not just you - we have 100's of people active here daily (& thousands on the main site doing things like searching & browsing) so it's essential to keep things as simple as possible & keep to the guidelines.

Thanks ;)

The reason that pete doesn't want people to link images from other sites is because it not only slows down the forum, but it steals their bandwith which causes their site to cost more.
