New experiance

Postby Craig. » Fri Oct 10, 2003 7:48 am

got the chance to take my moms car out for a drive for the second time today. thing was it was along a simple road and reverse round a corner and back again, simple, you'd have thought, but then when it came to reversing round that corner, i made a simple mistake, and for the first time in god know how long, it got to me, i actually from then on i made mistake after mistake. yet i have never let that happen before. How the heck do you stop that from happening? i know it may sound strange and a bit egotistical but its not something i am used to.
advice would be very welcome as i cant afford this to happen again.
other than that it was pretty cool to get a chance to drive that car again, but now i am really doubting whether or not i can carry on with this.

Try to put it out of your mind Craig, or better yet, tell yourself 'I made that mistake because.....' rationalise it, and you won't make that same mistake again, 'cos next time it comes around your subconscious will go 'ooh nooooo! We're not doing THAT again!!!'

NObody got hurt right?!? Then there's nothing to worry about...if it still bothers you, don't let it...

you don't want to end up riding the bus everywhere do you?!? all it takes is some practice.  You'll get the hang of it!

Hope next time goes better for ya,

You know, the more i think about it this was actually a good thing to happen to me. It brought out my biggest and perhaps only fear, and thats Quicksand(not in the litteral sense) basically for those who dont understand, its when you make one mistake, then another and another, and no matter how much you struggle to get out of it, you keep sinking(as such) because you let it get to you. Perhaps it was about time i came face to face with my fear, and its better i came up against it in a quiet street, than a busy intersection or traffic lights. I think it was Hagar who brought something like this up a while back and a girl who was getting flustered at a set of traffic lights.

Craig, remember what my grandad always told me "Experience is that thing you get right after you needed it!"
Once I had got my driving licence I believed I knew all I needed to know about driving. Three months later I had my first crash and discovered I really didn't know as much as I thought!!! Ooops ;D
Life is a learning experience, don't let it get to you. Remember don't take life seriously, you'll never get out alive ;D
