David Blane; Above the below

Postby Maccers » Sun Sep 07, 2003 3:31 pm

I came home from work and watched him walk in his box (digital TV is pretty boring on a friday night) and loads of questions came into my head about what will happen.
For those who are thinking 'wtf' this stunt involves sitting in a very small glass box, suspended near Tower Bridge, London, for 6 weeks with only water. No food.
Personally I think he's going to die ::)

well like i ranted on in another thread, they are charging to watch this stunt online, something they conveniently leave out in the tv show.
secondly i hope he goes insane, then i have a feeling he's gonna end up dieing one night in his sleep towards the end, the guy doesnt seem with it anyway, can you imagine what this will do to him

I've only got realplayer on my laptop, so this is as far as I've got to a webcast of the stunt

Lucky bunny,wish I had a hat I could eat.

Anyway Blane is an illusionist so I don't think he's in there at all. I believe it is a holographic projection and anything that comes out of his waste tube is simply water from where they didn't seal the box from the  rain :)

sadly i believe he really is in there, but whats really funny is they have had to put barriers up now to keep the crowd away, as a fight happend under the box, and also a bunch of kids threw eggs at it:)

What everyone is failing to realize, is that, like every other magician and illusionist out there, there's a catch that we're not getting.  He's in no harm whatsoever.  All of his antics about being weak afterwards, are a show.

As someone who ADORES magic, and tries to learn as much as he can, I can assure you, nothing's going to happen.  But I'll be holding my breath when he comes out too, just like everyone else who cares.

What I love about Blaine is my inability to figure him out.  Most magicians I can look at and say "Oh, there's a trap door in the box!"   But with David Blaine, I'm just stupified as to the method he took to get to the "punchline".
Great edit, Bob.

David Blaine has to have the quickest hands I have ever seen. There was a show about him on TLC doing card tricks and stuff right in front of ordinary people on the street. He asked some lady for a quarter and he bit it in half and then spat the other half out, putting the quarter back together. Pretty amazing...

lol yeah, my brain was takin a day off ::) :P what i meant is that the guy is funny (rather stoooooopid sometimes) and that this trick on the box reminded me of the trick he did on that show (see vid)

i also said taht i wante to try that thing he did with the fake heart (see vid) in class to freak out my classmates

all in all i think is rather dumb of him (blane) performing this trick. he has to get a life!

I found a website that gives out his tricks. You got to hand it to him for the skills or being clever.
