Andrew,
I live in Federal Way and over the past ten years its become pretty "urbanized", but you'ld be surprised at the number of possums and skunks that get flatten on the main drag around here!!  Its just goes to show you how wild life continues to survive, even in the city.

Hi Maccers...!
Make sure your steering is not out of alignment now...!
Even a little tap of the kerb with the front wheel(s) will affect the steering, you will notice it in un-even tyre wear and heavy steering.
If the garage fitters replaced the wheels due to damage, they should also have checked the wheel alignment.
...blimey...you haven't had this car more than five minutes and here you are running into stationary kerbs...
Whatever next... ;D...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers mate...

its still better than hitting another car, which has already happened to people i know who have been driving as long as me. :-/
Scratches, dents, big cave-ins, etc. out of a group of 10, only 3 of us have no visible damage or anything serious happen (i dont count 2 hrs stationary and fully driveably stright after serious :))
Its definatly a lot better than going out on your first drive after passing, taking your girlfriend along, crashing and having her leg amputated :o which happened to my boss's oldest.

I have only had one road kill. I was driving about 75-80mph when a duck crosses my path. The duck "exploded" when he hit my windshield. but the windshield  never broke or cracked. That in it self is amazing considering the white tail deer population here. I have had many near hits.

While on vacation with my cousins in Maine I was driving along nice an comfortable. Then all hell breaks loose. An Explorer comes over the hill infront of me, going 70 on a country road (complete idiot). Out of the blue this deer comes out behind me right when the guy is about to pass me. BANG! Well I stopped to check on the guy, he had a broken arm so I called an ambulance. He was LUCKY. The entire engine block was destroyed, and the passenger side was, well lets say no longer existed.

A while ago I was in Australia for a year, and you get roadkill galore out there. I hit snakes (boink.....boink), broke the windscreen hitting a parot (thnk god they are laminated!), but by far the worst was *almost* hitting a herd of cows at night, 200km's from anywhere. I was doing 110Kph (about 68mph) and saw them at the last minute.  I stood on the brakes, and we stopped about 10 feet short. I filled my slacks that's for sure.  :o

You see some pretty terrible things on the highways out there. Even the roadtrains (Big-Rigs with 5-7 trailers on the back) get flipped when they hit herds of cattle and Kangaroos.

Probably the best roadkill I've had in my native England was a pheasant, which I hit at about 100Mph, out in the country. It just atomised on impact, and I had to SCRUB it's remains from the front of my car. Messy.  ::)

I once hit a sheep on my pushbike, but that's a different story!
