I don't even have FS2002!

I suppose that makes me either a female or a eunic.

P.S. Why is FS2002 so big (in comparison to FS2000 and the CFS's)?

I have CFS1 (with about 10 extra planes and 10 missions)
CFS2 (with 90 extra planes and about 20 extra missions/campaign missions)
CFS3 (no addons0
FS2000 (10 extra planes)

All this adds up to about 5 GB

(you may notice I don't have alot of scenery addons, just those that come with the missions etc - I'm still trying to get the addon Carrier to work after 6 months - scenery sucks!).  ;D ;D ;)

Now worries Brensec, I've got CFS1 and 3 and didn't include them in my count. Ouch. Lots of HD gigs been eaten up, but the joy they bring is beyond counting ;D

If this is CFS2 the carrier is most likely a Ship object & not scenery at all. CFS2 ships are configured just like aircraft except they're installed to CFS2\SHIPS instead of CFS2\AIRCRAFT. Then add the ship details to descrip.dat & mdlnames.txt using Notepad. Full instructions should be included with it.

Thanks for the concern, mate.

To tell you the truth, I haven't looked at it or given it another go for a while (it's that Arrcab thing).
I'm at work now so I can't look at any of it, but the problem seems to be there is an instruction to put a particular file into a folder that doesn't exist in my Sim.

If you don't mind, I'll comre back to you at a better time (for both of us). Thanks again.  ;D ;D

No problem. The ArrCab stuff is scenery. I'm not sure it works with CFS2.  ???

You should try in CFS3 Brensec... ::)...a B-25 with rudder and elevator damage, add in some flak holes and a Bf109 closing in isn't fun...your only hope is to quickly switch to the rear gunner and take pot shots...LOL...then if you get away, you've got to hope your fuel tank hasn't got a leak.  Then, if you get home...try landing a plane covered in small holes with no elevator or rudder control and perhaps some dodgy ailerons...not fun at all...but rewarding. 8)

Anyway, you don't see much fighters attacking shipping. ;)  If you take a mission into Hunland though...chances are you're going to meet soe, but usually your escort engages them.  But that's funny...I was under the impression that Spits couldn't escort bombers into germany because they couldn't carry enough fuel...oh, well... ::)

PS:  Well done Brensec, just read your other topic in the cafe.  Proud of you, mate. ;)

Thanks Whitey,

I suppose I'll get to CFS3 when and if I ever get a P.C. that can handle it.

I have used it on the P.C. at work that has a Rage 120 pro card. It still sets defaults at 1 though. In fact I've probably only flown about 20 hrs on CFS3 and I need different planes already.

I don't know what everyone else thinks but the graphics aren't as good as CFS2, even with the P.C. at work set on 3 or 4, just for the purpose of checking out the quality. Anyway......................

Whoops, wrong subject in wrong place................... ;D

Yeah, I'm just back from a mission into france escorting bombers on the way back.  I ran out of fuel over the channel... :(... ::)

I'll put up shots of my CFS3 (all settings at 5 except clouds (they're at 3)).  Still runs at 30fps over water and 16fps in low level ground attacks...clouds eat my frame rates, though. ;)

Thanks Whitey.

I don't spend much time in screen shots. Can I ask you to give me a yell in here when you've posted them so I can have a look.

I'd really like to see what this new system actually achieves in the graphics area.

;D ;D ;)

I use two hard drives. I have XP and my sims installed on the C drive (20Gigs), nothing else.

All other progs and archives on the D drive (40 Gigs).

I do this so that the sims can access files faster. It does help some.

My 40 gigger is about full though. I have been collecting music for over 30 years and have just about all of it converted to mp3 for smaller storage. I keep the master cd's in a safety deposit box in case of fire or virus. (Just about 7500 mp3 files) (No I do NOT share or download.) All acquired legit.  ;D

I could set the winamp on shuffle and play for a little over 3 weeks, 24 hours a day, without a repeat.  ;D
