Media coverage during Wartimes

During the first couple days when the current war first started, a lot of tv networks (Atleast the ones I get) put almost everything on hold during the day to cover the war. We had media coverage and up to date coverage almost the entire day. I've noticed that the amount of time devoted to the war has lessened quite a bit now.

What was the media coverage like during WW2, Vietnam, the first Persian Gulf, & the kosovo crises like?

I was only five years old during the first Persian Gulf war, and I knew something was happening but since I was so young I really didn't pay much attention. During the Kosovo crises, I didn't get tv so i'm not sure how much the media covered it.

Andrew, an excellent question indeed. I was busy taking part in the last Gulf War, but my friends and some of my family said the religiously watched every news broadcast, so I guess the coverage was pretty fair.
As for Kosovo, well I don't live all that far away, so we got lots of coverage here of that, as we also did with all the attacks on Serbia, in fact I used to watch the planes going over at night to bomb it.
WWII well, they had newsreels in those days that were shown at cinemas, so I don't think the coverage was that impressive, but Hollywood has sure made up for it with movies of nearly every famous battle! And in colour!!!
Vietnam was the first televised war as I understand it (but I was only 3 when it finished in '75). Maybe some of the elders here can advise you on that. Romulus was in the Green Berets in Vietnam, so he is probably the best person to ask.

All the national networks that have there own channels, CNN, FOX News, SKY News, etc are still devoting almost all time to it, local stations are breaking off.
