Flight Sim 2017 at RAF Cosford.

Hi All,

Went up to RAF Museum Cosford for Flight Sim 2017 yesterday, really did enjoy it (& the real aircraft themselves too!)
Good to see that flight simming has a very large following of all ages, male & female! The auditorium was jam packed viewing the latest offerings from Laminar's X-plane 11 (big update coming soon) I was impressed by a newcomer called Remex Software's new Bush Flight Sim called Deadstick, I must say that what I saw being demo-ed on their booth was amazing & I managed to get on the controls for a quick flight & came away really impressed! Not too sure when that will be coming out.

A lot of the usual exhibitors were there if you wanted to pick up a couple of good deals, there were quite a lot of booths selling components for building your own home set ups, it looks like you could get everything to make your own Airbus or Boeing cockpit (didn't ask how much though but I could see a few thousand leaving your bank account in doing so!) I could see VR is getting more popular as the software developers are starting to embrace it, though I've yet to experience it myself as the strap of the goggles interfere with my hearing aid allowing for horrible feedback noise

I was most impressed by the goodie bag they provied when I got home, among all of the usual leaflets, a pen & there was a nice gift from Just Flight, a download voucher to pick 1 of 2 aircraft for free! You could choose either the DHC-1 Chipmunk or the Voight F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage". I already had the Chipmunk so getting the Corsair for nowt was great!

I may go back next year!

Regards,

Keith.

Good to hear that our type of simming appears to still be thriving. I'll be on the lookout for video reports from various folk.
