The Prodigal Flyer Returns...

Postby Xyn_Air » Sun Dec 25, 2016 7:55 am

Not sure if anyone hereabouts will remember me; it has been a few years since I was anything like a regular.

That said, as I get back into simviation (could a more brilliant portmanteau for this hobby exist?) the memories of how helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly everyone here has been brought me immediately back.

So, please, forgive me my absence, and I hope all of you are having wonderfully happy holidays and amazing flights. Cheers!

Welcome back to the herd Xyn_Air. :D :D

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

Hi, Hawkeye, Fozzer and Ozzy! Yeeeaaah, about that dancing badger, just shows how long I have been away, ha ha. Memories, right? Might have to dig around for my old Xyn Air logo.

And, yes, Fozzer, it has been VERY snowy up here. Been snowed in at work for a few days. Fortunately, I work at a hotel, and (no surprise) it has been dead slow. So, for the first couple of days when it was just one other employee and myself snowed in and everyone else snowed out, we took turns covering the desk and crashing in one of the rooms.

That said, it hasn't been all bad. When I came into work this weekend, the snow was already falling and there was a blizzard warning, so I packed accordingly. Brought an old Logitech flight stick I had laying around and an even older copy of FS2004 with me to install on my laptop. Gotta admit, FS2004 still runs pretty well even on my laptop. Though, if I use the local airport and real-world weather conditions, I can only get permission to fly IFR, ha ha.
