Two Clubs

Postby Flying Trucker » Mon Jan 04, 2016 4:25 pm

Good afternoon all... ;)

Having a little fun:

I belong to two clubs, well almost...

The Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezers Club at the Bugsmasher Field
and
The Old Retired Computer Chair Simviation Geezers Club could be formed right here within Simviation itself, why I bet there has too be at least twenty or thirty of us that could be classified as Old Retired Computer Chair Simviating Geezers... well something to think about...

A member of the Salvation Army who is a member of one of our Bugsmasher Clubs left his magazine on the club table and I got reading it.

Interesting, full of information and got a good chuckle out of these words...you Old Retired Computer Chair Simviating Geezers will remember these:

-wicked meant evil
-sick meant you needed medication
-you wore thongs on your feet
-absquatulate means to leave...I am going to absquatulate the forums
-canoodle means to hug and kiss...Old Girl let's canoodle
-lollygag means to loiter, to move slowly
-skedaddle is the opposite to lollygag...quit lollygagging and skedaddle off to school
-vomitory is an entrance to an amphitheatre or stadium
-gongoozling means you love staring at canals
-logorrhea is pathologically excessive (and often incoherent) talking
-discombobulating means you confuse others with your speech
-Bee's knees and cat's pyjamas...ultimate in cool
-fiddlesticks is an expression of mild derision or disbelief
-chew the rag or chew the fat are English expressions for gossiping or making friendly small talk.

Have some fun, if you have any others feel free to add them...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Well I'll be...and thought I knew what was going on... :angry-tappingfoot:

Apparently a bugsmashing flying club the Old Girl and I visit frequently (great bacon, tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo, salt and pepper and toasted sandwich with chips) has had this in place since
Microsoft FS98.

" Old Retired Computer Chair Simviating Geezers Club"

They still run computer courses along with a small flying school and use several different types of Transport Canada Approved Flight Simulators.

I found this out this morning when an e-mail came in from one of their members asking me if I had purchased a Computer Keyboard strictly designed for the use of Flight Simulating. Never heard of such a thing.

Apparently one of our Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezers had dropped in to visit their club in his Mooney and mentioned I was having big problems programming my Logitech G15 Keyboard.

Well will have to look into that...going to have some info sent to me along with tips on how to program this Logitech G15 Keyboard...Wish I knew where the manual was :?:

So we do learn something new every day... :happy-wavemulticolor:

Just got some info now:...interesting

Concerning the link, I have really come to appreciate key boards that have backlight. It's so much easier to see. :-)

Good evening logjam... <<s

Our bugsmashing field runs a Bridge Night (Any of various card games based on whist for four players) and an informative course on the card game one hour prior to the game. We do this twice a month and right now it looks like we have more players than tables.

I am very surprised how young some of these folks are, like in their early twenties. Chess can be played like the Piano at any time at the Club House or most Bugsmasher Fields and bringing along your own musical instrument is most welcome... ;)

Most schools and colleges have an evening Computer Course here so that is why we never got around to running one at the Flying Club, however we have had courses on using the GPS, VOR and ADF Navigation.
Once a year most Flying Clubs in our area will run a Winter Operations Course but it is only a one nighter.

Lots of different aviation related courses are offered all across Canuck Land at various Flying Clubs throughout the year. ;)

Noun: whist... A card game for four players who form two partnerships; a pack of 52 cards is dealt and each side scores one point for each trick it takes in excess of six...

Thanks for the reply Steve...

If you order one please let me know how it works out.

Do you use a Logitech G15 or G16 by any chance :?:

We had a bridge night once. That is until they cancelled the old Bridge and built one that had a longer name. Now we just walk down there and look over the edge.
