St. Louis teen Bud Weisser arrested for trespassing at Budweiser brewery

No Bud for you!

An aptly named Missouri teen was cuffed Thursday for trespassing at the Budweiser brewery in St. Louis.

Bud Weisser faces charges of trespassing and resisting arrest after he got into a scuffle with brewery security in a secure area of the facility just before 7 p.m., St. Louis police told the Daily News.

Weisser somehow got into a secure area of the brewery before scuffling with security, St. Louis police said.

Weisser, 19, was asked to leave before the scuffle broke out and police were called, according to an arrest report taken at the flagship brewery at 9th and Arsenal. It’s unclear how Weisser got into the building, which currently is hosting a “Brewery Lights” holiday event until 10 p.m. every evening through January 3.

So I take it trespass is a criminal offence in the USA? In the UK it is a civil offence and as such not an arrestable offence. It is up to the land owner to bring charges.

"A lawyer from the CPS said on Saturday she had authorised police to charge the man with trespassing on a designated site, an offence under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005."

Basic trespass is as I said it is, however when you have to use an an offence under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 to press home a charge, one you are clutching at straws and two, organised crime for trespass, I think a good lawyer would have that thrown out.....

That's life in the Police State of America.

If you get into a secure area of a major beverage manufacturing plant and refuse to leave when ordered by security you're probably going to be arrested for something.

I offered the idea of naming our daughter Anita Beer, but the wife offered divorce in response.
