Good morning all... :D

Here is a bit of information for OldAirmail and others who have just purchased this product from Virtualcol.

Firstly here is an Operations Manuel...not the one I used...mine was dated earlier...

http://www.avialogs.com/en/aircraft/can ... anual.html

Some interesting information about the civilian operation of this aircraft.

The RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) did put the actual aircraft through her paces...including many maneuvers it seems this manual does not recommend...

With respect to this simulated model...it is quite good and well worth the purchase in my opinion.

The DHC-3 is a STOL Aircraft:
-large Fowler Flap
-the Rear Tail Stabilizer moves up and down...not just a trim tab unit
-use the Rudder Trim Wheel along with Nose Up and Down Trim Wheel...always for every power change...Trim...Trim...Trim
-Climb Flap the DHC-3 Otter climbs like a Helicopter...NOSE DOWN SLIGHTLY
-watch the aircrafts Center of Gravity

There were three (3) Belly Fuel Tanks with four (4) Cells and there were Wing Fuel Tanks installed on some DHC-3 Otters giving a much longer range...

For some reason this simulated model does not Take-Off on Water all that well unless the Take-Off Flap Setting is used...

Certainly not like the Real Aircraft at all... ;)

Have not used this Virtualcol DHC-3 Simulated Aircraft Model on a FSX Cross Country Simulated Flight of any duration, however am looking forward to a several hour Cross Country with the Radial and Turbo Engine versions. What I have seen so far and with the help of OldAirmail I am impressed with what has been marketed by Virtualcol and the kit is certainly worth the price of purchase... ;)

Certainly hope the above information is useful to other members here... :violin:
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
