Oh My God! Back Surgery HURTS!!

Postby BLAZE » Fri May 15, 2015 1:42 am

First of all, I want to apologize to all of you. I am such an "anti-social".. it's ridiculous!

I don't do much foruming anymore, but I will say this though, the only forum I talk on, is this one.

I do a bit of YouTube commenting though. I think it's because, I don't really care what the average
YouTuber thinks about what I say. In most cases that is. I do care about what the folks at JustPlanes
think and the folks at FlightChops, and some other ones. I've talked to Steve (FlightChops), Cool Dude!

But anyway, my point was that I care alot about what you fine folks here at SimV think, More then
anywhere else on the web. Or in my life for that matter. I hope this even makes sense! I don't know!

I've been dealing with a real bad lower back condition for.. well.. as long as I can remember. Now, I
know it's not a life treatning illness and I want to say, I mean no disrespect to you fine folks who are
dealing with that. I hope to god, with ALL my heart that ALL of you are doing ok!

I finally bit that bullet on the 13th and got the surgery I've been needing for a long time. Please forgive
me but.. JESUS CHRIST!!!!! I don't wish this crap on anybody. I'm sure some of you have had this done.
Is it supposed to HURT this freekin' bad? Is this "Normal?"

I've been on pretty strong narcotic painkillers (10/325's) for about twenty years. I bet some of you just
cringed at that one! I know.. that's a loooong time! I got that little ditty to look forward to later.
I think you get me on that. But even they ain't helping a whole lot at this point.

My mom just asked me if I want some more coffee. Bless her heart, I don't know what I would do without her.
She is a real big help to me right now. No, she is a HUGE help i mean. It's messed up cause, I'm the one
who is here to help mom. now it's the other way around.

Oh well, I have to take another pill and try to get some sleep now. Fun..Fun! LOL ..

Thank you for reading my psychobabble! :shifty:

This is always a good place to go to and talk things out sometimes. Think nothing of it.

Back surgery is a tough-do. We all wish you a speedy recovery. It takes awhile, sometimes a long while, depending on the type of op. Back ops, well, my advice is to follow your doctor's advice, assuming he/she has any, for the recovery process. And be very patient with yourself. Hopefully you'll fully recover from this, but it really takes awhile. Yes, the pain will hang around awhile. It just takes time. Don't push yourself. The immediate post-op period is critical and the worst part of it all.

I had a hernia fixed on Feb 5th. Certainly a minor op compared to a back op. Right around a month ago I started to finally, finally, finally feel OK and able to walk and not tell too much that I had the op. The pain was pretty bad the 1st week after, then slowly started subsiding. I purposely didn't take pain killers, just Tylenol, the pain was somewhat tolerable, but still hurt like hell the 1st week.

And the anesthesia effects seem to linger for a few weeks afterward.

Good luck and cheers, we're rootin' for ya.

Yep, the surgeon's assistant (Cute as hell by the way, F.B.I. in full effect) came in to clear me so I could go home yesterday. One of the things
she told me was it could take anywhere from 6 months to a year to fully recover. I tell ya what.. I never, ever, EVER want to go through
this crap again ever. So I just hope this surgeon got all the chips out. She told me yesterday that to start with, there was a nice sized
bone sliver floating around the nerve root somewhere between the L3 to L5 vert's. That was very painful! It was affecting my right butt cheak
and down to my left knee. That's pretty much gone now. my right leg was about 99% numb from the knee down and now it's maybe around 85 to 90%
numb. she said that will fad away in the aforementioned time. I have 20 staples holding every thing in and together. It's weird feeling them things
back there. I'm not sure what is my pain and the pain from surgery yet. Time will tell I guess!

Thank you guys very much for your support.
