Abbey Road Crossing

Looks like the weather for the tourists is good at Abbey Road. Here is a link for the Abbey Road crossing cam for anyone that is interested. I get a kick out of the people that pose similar to the Beatles album cover, even though that isnt the crossing the original album cobver was taken at :?

Great. :D

But the pedestrians remind me of lemmings (yes, their suicides were faked, but it's a good allegory of human behavior).

They walk in front of moving vehicles knowing that the vehicles have to stop.

Maybe.

Frequently.

Most of the time.

But sometimes not.

One day, on a drizzly (NOT rainy) day, a guy literally walked right in front of my van KNOWING that I had to stop suddenly for him.

Although I was going slower that the speed limit (he look directly at me as he did it, arrogantly stupid) the van slid to a stop about 6 to 8 inches from him.

Sometimes, people do deserve what they get. But this time he was safe ONLY because I had slowed down, suspecting that he would do what he did.

Yes I have to admit that when I sit and watch I am amaised at the stupidy of some people just walking out in front of cars to get a photo :? . Watching one day I saw a group stand there for quite a while and the poor guy in the car had to blow his horn at them to get them to move  . Just plane rude  . When I am traveling I never try to bother the locals as they are usually busy and have no time for this nonsence. I am supprised at how patient that the people in the cars are. Must be a verry friendly neighbourhood :D .
