Good morning Mark...

Wonderful idea and two Links well worth reading.

I can only hope aviators who flew other aircraft types and who also flew for the Fleet Air Arm and Army Co-operation Units are not forgotten.

My personal opinion is aircraft like the Fleet Air Arm Fairey Swordfish, the Armies light aircraft for spotting and casualty evacuations and Training Commands aircraft like the Avro Anson are just as important to winning the conflicts as the heavies and fighters were.

Folks often forget that there are a lot of people behind those aviators who's professions were just as important, clerks, cooks, aircraft fitters and riggers, ambulance drivers, and so many more Trades Professionals who kept the momentum going to win those conflicts.
These are the folks that are often overlooked at museums and in movies.

Following a link on your first reference page I saw this about a man who flew 800 combat hours in the cockpit of a Hurricane during World War Two and who had wanted to try out a Spitfire.
