Operation Himmler. Again.

Operation Himmler

The plan

For months prior to the 1939 invasion, German newspapers and politicians like Adolf Hitler had carried out a national and international propaganda campaign accusing Polish authorities of organizing or tolerating violent ethnic cleansing of ethnic Germans living in Poland.

The plan, named after its originator, Heinrich Himmler, was supervised by Reinhard Heydrich and managed by Heinrich Müller. The goal of this false flag project was to create the appearance of Polish aggression against Germany, which could be used to justify the German invasion of Poland. Hitler also might have hoped to confuse Poland's allies, the United Kingdom and France, into delaying or stopping their declaration of war on Germany.

"I can no longer find any willingness on the part of the Polish Government to conduct serious negotiations with us. These proposals for mediation have failed because in the meanwhile there, first of all, came as an answer the sudden Polish general mobilization, followed by more Polish atrocities."

from CNN
Russia complains of large Ukrainian troop buildup in east

A perilous faceoff intensified Saturday when Russia state news complained that Ukraine had mobilized 15,000 troops in the suburbs of Slavyansk in eastern Ukraine "in order to wipe out the city and its residents."

From Wiki - Slavyansk population - 116,490.

Hopefully, history isn't going to repeat itself.

Pelgrim; I’m offended you would want this thread removed.

The OP is quoting historical fact, and based on current world news, reported by various international news agencies, the similarities are unmistakable.
Millions of lives have been lost due to unwarranted aggression by leaders with no regard to human life.
When you see it happening again, making people aware of it should be a priority, not hiding it.

This information should be the top news story around the world.
Just maybe if more people realized these conflicts are history repeating itself, something could be done to minimize the death toll of innocent people.

I share the concern, the signs are bad. However mentioning Himmler in relation to Russia is wrong. This is the way all wars start, we are great, they are demons. It is in the end a self fullfilling prophecy. And it costs innocent lives. And the fact that this mess started during the games makes me very suspicious about western involvement.

This topic could easily spiral out of control and into a flame war. You'll get a first hand lesson on why subjects of this nature are frowned upon. Especially when people try to involve different factions w/o any proof.

In my humble opinion it would be wise to lock this topic......

Maybe move it to history, as it relates to WW2.

That forum is more tolerant of subjects like this.
"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!" - Sen. John Blutarsky

You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I don't understand what's gone wrong with it. - George Hanson, 1969

Ahh the Almighty Spewing, mis-leading that draw some to a contemptuous conclusion, News media. Exploiters of the truth until actual events occur, or fail to take place, or are proven otherwise.

It is over something that actually started in 1992 already between the Ukraine and Russia, no news like really really old news.

As some people said before, this method can be found in history several times. Since it's now 100 years ago, I wanted to mention World War 1, which was started the same way. Austria-Hungary wanted to attack Serbia and needed a reason too. They knew, that Russia and France will attack them. They didn't fear the loss of lives. It always has an economic reason to start a war. The economic leaders think, the war could be fast and cost not too much but will result in maximum profit, at least for themselves. It doesn't matter them to sacrifice some lives, even millions or spending a lot of taxpayers money. And the soldiers on both sides think, they fight a good war against the evil enemy. They hardly ever see the background story. Or they know exactly how wrong is what they do but fear to raise up, because this would kill them too.

To all people who want this thread closed or deleted:

If you can't stand it, don't read it or reply to it. It may be soon, we can't discuss things like this freely, without beeing arrested and sent to a prison camp far away from home from where we may never return. We are already spyed out, when we send things online. Here in the West the actual leaders know well, that discussing things like this will never make a change. There are so many good journalists, so many good teachers, so many good authors, writing, teaching and filming but never make a change to the world. We all think, that what happened in Germany could not happen in our countries. I'm not sure about that. Also because most people don't think and just cry for war. Something also repeating in history. As soon as we get a dictator who fears to be overthrown by his people, posts like this will be impossible. Imagine that once! Even talking with your friends may be dangerous, because one of them or just somebody listening could be part of the system and you get arrested the next day.

Just a couple quotes about the ideas behind this thread:
Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it.
Those who would trade their freedom for safety deserve neither.
The signs are coming into focus and will be blurred soon by the fog of war. :geek:

Locking, or removing the thread wouldn't bother me.

It wasn't started to cause controversy, but to bring up how surprisingly similar the statements in that CNN article were to a series of actual events from the year that my older brother was born in.

Moving this thread to the "history" section would be fine with me, although I view this as current events.

I rarely look far down the main page, so I've forgotten that there is a "history" section.

In general, I tend to glance thru the "View new posts" for post that interests me, rather than read through separate sections.

For those who demand an end to war, I have only one thing to say - It aint't gonna happen.

The "Why" is simple -
