I haven't seen my cousin since she lived in Sandy Hook and Danbury, Connecticut; her native language was modern U.S. English but she now lives in Sweden; I expect Kurt may do better than she in any similar dialects.

It all seems a bit daft to me!
O, BTW Fozz, when I went back home to bury my Dad, we found his old Austin allegro buried in his garage under a million grocery shopping bags tied up in knots. We donated it to the local fire brigade for fire practise. If I'd known you had a matching car, we could have had a stereo pair!

With only 40,000 miles on the clock from new in 1982, and in quite good condition, stored in my garage for the past 24 years, I have been reliably? informed that it would be a collectors item for Austin Allegro Enthusiasts....(whoever they are).... ...!

Choices....
(a) Fire practice.
(b) E-bay.

It was a marvellous car in its day, with excellent "Hydrolastic" suspension....and other things.... ;) ...!

Too much traffic congestion on the roads nowadays, so I stick to my 2-Wheels (Motorbikes)

O, btw Fozzer, whatever happened to that old Suffolk punch lawnmower? I noticed that you replaced it with a Briggs & Stratton. :naughty:

Never fear, Log... ;) ...

I fitted the old Suffolk Punch engine in my Flex-wing Microlight which I am just building in my garage...

I just hope it runs as sweetly and RELIABLY as my new Briggs and Stratton Engine in my Petrol Lawn Mower.

An engine failure on the Lawn is much less serious than an engine failure up in the air......apparently... :o ...!

I dunno, when I was a kid growing up, mowing the lawn was part of my weekly chores, and an engine failure out on the lawn was, first and foremost an emergency of major proportions, according to my father, but a cause for celebration, altho shortlived, by me.
Celebration right up to the time I got to learn how to repair a Briggs & Stratton engine in a Toro mower that is...
Probably a lot easier in the garage than up in the air, I'll grant ya!

Get yerself a nice goat...great self-propelled, auto-fertilizing mowing system. Just move it once in a while to a different part of the lawn! Never need to mow again! :chores-mowlawn:
Or hire a lovely young lady that needs extra school money and is willing to mow...fun to watch if nothing else! Yeah, I'm a male chauvanist....

Have a fun day all!

Well, as far as mowing lawns is concerned, years ago I bought my dear lady a self powered Honda. This has been a real boon, as she can start it herself rather than ask me to start it for her. Being self powered, she doesn't have to work hard pushing the thing around the yard. I feel that if there was something I could do for her, it was to ease the load a bit. What, with all the housework, cooking meals and pouring drinks, she has plenty to do. :violin:

I wish they'd bring back dueling and replace lawsuits with it, then we'll see how many people wanna sue for spilling hot coffee on themselves.

Fresno's a different place, believe me. I was there in December 2007 towing my rig to Mexico. I couldn't find space in a trailer park so I stayed on a nearby Wal-Mart parking lot. During the night I awoke to the noise of what turned out to be a police helicopter and loudspeakers and gunshots. I ended up being a material witness to a shoot out and 2 bullet holes in my pick-up truck. The Wal-Mart was open 24 hrs. but the McDonalds inside wasn't. I ended up serving coffee to 8 Fresno cops and a bunch of looky loos too.

The city or the sweet peaceful country side. What's it matter.

In the city your screams for mercy may keep someone from sleeping, so they might call the cops.

In the country there's no one to hear your screams.

Sleep tight.

Heck with the whole scream thing.....I draw and fire faster than they do. At least so far I have, the day I don't, I die. And out in the lovely, quiet, peaceful countryside the bodies are a lOT easier to, errrr.....dispose of. Nature provides :D
Besides, no cops out here to ask bothersome questions! We have a roughly 45 min response time for the Sheriff's Department or State Troopers where I live. Not that it matters much, 45 min or 3 min, all they ever manage to do is arrive just in time to.....TAKE A REPORT! :angry-banghead: :confusion-shrug:
To paraphrase Wild Bill Hickock, I think it was..."90% of being a good gunfighter is being willing to shoot the other guy..."

I'll rely on my reflexes and good right arm till the day they fail me for the "protect" part of Protect and Serve, thanx....

Great night to all!!

It seems such a shame....

I spend many happy hours, almost every day, Sim Flying the length and breadth of Central Valley, with its fruit orchards and vast vegetable plots with their automatic irrigation systems, "Wikipediaing" local information, studying the local maps and many photographs of the area,...

....but the idyllic illusion can be spoilt by some of the dangerous folks who live there...Fresno in particular!

Fresno is also a stop-off point for visitors to the beautiful Yosemite National Park, who are mostly unaware of the bad goings-on that occur there!

Central Valley is also populated by many State prisons, whose members, out on Parole, are generally getting up to mischief!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ca ... te_prisons

So, altogether, I mostly stay at around 500/1000 feet Above Ground Level in Central Valley (especially on the Eastern side), during my flights, and keep a sharp look-out for folks with high-powered rifles pointing in my direction!

A trip from Bakersfield to Sacramento, following Interstate I5...>>> http://www.visitcalifornia.com/media/pa ... VALLEY.pdf

Paul...Off touring Cal again...at a safe height!.... ...!
