I land airbus's (A321 wilcopub) regularly first time at Dusseldorf but my CRJ 700(wilopub) gives me grief. I have a suspicion my Glide Slope height is questionable EDDL is about 145 feet above Sea Level do I add this to my FL290 (2900ft). When I try a second time it's ok because I make sure of a long straight final approach. Obviosly ILS I am talking. Perhaps a final of 15NM straight is required. CRS 053 Freq 111.50 and final height of 2900ft RNWY 05R. Any indications and help would save me tearing my hair out

Dusseldorf is indeed about 147 feet above sea level.  However I am not sure where you are getting your altitude of 2900 ft (by the way, it is not flight level FL290, which would be 29,000 feet).  Are you referring to the height which you intercept the glideslope?  In that case you would not add the 147 feet, although it wouldn't make much of a difference if you had.  At 2900 feet, you should intercept the glideslope around 5-6 miles out I believe.

Thanks for replying. Yes your quite right trying to be too clever FL290 is flight level 29000 feet. Meant the glide slope capture height, Which you have clarified. so you add sea

Just a quick addendum to that :- if an airport or airfielld is at 3000 feet (< i know thats unusual LOL) I now add 2900 for the 'normal' glidslope capture height  ?? right
