i just fly the beautiful t45 goshawk and experience a situation needing some explanation. i was flying 8000 ft at 360 kts when i lost the speed indication in the headgear, i could still see the mack speed that was 0.6, after a moment of head scratching i thought , winter, cold, maybe i need some heat, i open up the heat pitot and after a few moments speedmeter came back to life in the headgear. my question is: did i make the good move, or is it just luck, and should i open the heater every time i fly in winter

You made a good move, a little late, but good.
