Yeah, I'd be interested to hear how you got it, considering most of us are restricted by federal law to 17.  Congrats however

did you go to Canada or something?  i know its 17 in US, but there was that like 15 year old in California who took lessons in Canada so he could get it at 15 or something like that

There is no specific regulation in regards to that (that I know of), I believe it's anyone, at any age.

To take the controls I dont think there is an age, you just have to have the PIC right there with you. But to receive instruction I think its like 14 or 16. It's probably in FAR Part 61 and maybe a note in part 91 somewhere. I havent checked in a while.

14 years old to take instruction!?! That's news to me. I've been taking lessons since I was 12.

i think you can start instruction whenever, however you need to be 16 to solo, and 17 for private pilot certification.

I believe that for licencing/certification purposes, only hours logged after your fourteenth birthday can count towards the licence. Doesn't stop you having lessons early, just increases the cost...

I thought the UK rules were minimum age 12. Minimum solo 16, so the youngest pilot license can be obtained at 16. I think it is rather young myself, when one has to be 12 before even allowed in the driving seat of a car.
