Home Strech To My License...

Last monday, I went on a solo cross country flight down to Lewiston, Idaho, which is a controlled airport. It was about 330 miles round trip. Besides fumbling around on the radio, it went well. It was also the last requirement I had to meet before being eligible to take the checkride.
I just went on a local flight, and my instructor says i'm almost ready. She's already talking with another student and the examiner to coordinate a date for the checkride sometime within the next couple weeks.
I'm quite nervous about the checkride, and any tips or advice would be great

My advice for anything, Esselbach - keep calm and concentrate on the task.
Of course, you probably already know this, so I doubt I'll be of much help :-X

I didn't announce it because it really wasn't a "fun" thing.. In fact,, it was an all day ordeal.. But I passed my CFI checkride on March 1st and I'm a nervous wreck about GIVING a mock, PPL checkride..
It was a LONG time ago when I took that historic step (I posted about it a few months ago), but nothing has changed.
Best thing to do (always has been).. Go up with an instructor you've never flown with and have him give you a mock checkride.. Do it a few times if it's in your budget.
Good Luck !

The best advice I can give is to remember you won't be asked to do anything you've never done before.
But definitely make every flight until then either a mock check ride or serious practice on your weak areas.

Treat it as any normal flight, prepare as thoroughly as you can, and if you think you may have messed something up, don't worry about it - worrying takes up a lot of your mental capacity - just carry on and do the best you can for the rest of the trip...

It's just that being evaluated does something to me, and being nervous makes me mess up even more. It's a strange phenomenon :-/

dont wory on these test flights youve passed before your into the plane, another words if you dont make any bigmistakes then youve got nothing to worry about, remember the mistakes you make on that flight will always seem worse than they are so dont let them build up on you.
apart from that id say practice flying the same aircraft round your home airfield (or wherever your getting tested) on flight sim doing everything properly, and stay calm when you do your real check ride

I know how you mean. I've been there myself and I know people who feel it even more then I do. Much of it is you putting pressure on yourself, which is completely natural. The only thing you can do is prepare thoroughly and be as ready as you can be...
