The tower will tell you...
Or.. if you took off from an uncontrolled field.. it's up to you. (ASAP if you're IFR)

I learned the nifty accronym CPTANT when I was in flight school:
Callsign
Position
Time
Altitude
Next (waypoint)
Time
Doesnt make it worse that CPTANT actually means "retarded woman" in swedish ;D

That's the proper way to report arriving at a waypoint after you're already been in contact..
I think we need an initial contact acronym.. lol

for ATC over Teamspeak
there should be a general traffic advisory frequency
like 122.9 only over teamspeak.

I hate acronyms; prefer checklists and/or common sense.
On any initial callup, unless handed off, no matter if you're IFR or VFR, departing or arriving, they need to know:
-Who you are
-Where you are
-What you want
And keep it concise; think first, then spit it out. No rambling or improvising.
