Another helicopter question.

This questions is different than the other one, as I can land fine, I just have a hard time flying the helo.

I notice that in the air, everything will be fine and smooth, then the plane just starts acting berserk. The rear of the helicopter will start slapping side to side. Loss of all control, no throttle control.

Eventually, the helicopter will drop out of the sky.

What causes this, and how do I remedy it?

I don't have pedals, I fly with a joystick only. I don't really have the budget to buy a lot of new hardware, even if it is really cheap.

Thanks in advance.
TNH.

What are your realism settings up to?

Easiest, it is not nearly as often on that setting, but it still does it, and when it starts I have no control, I just have to ride it down.

Disable autorudder and fly while making LITTLE adjustments to the "rudder" (using the 0 and the "enter" key on your numpad)

The problem is obvious: you must've stopped believing that helicopters can fly.
Because they can't, you see, unless you believe.
;)
I'm still the most frustrated FS9 chopper-lander out there, but someone's earlier tips posted here (jordon? hm, don't remember) helped a lot, starting with max realism sliders, no autorudder, and very small ,constant (!) corrections.
My big problem still: anticipating the effect of reducing/increasing collective or power... but that just takes practice.
Whenever I load up a helicopter in FS9, I usually bomb around a bit, then start over, practicing taking off just to a hover. This is how it's done in RL... once you can hover a few feet off the deck and make small maneuvers, you can improve on everything else.
