Just passed my InFlight Test for my PPL

Hey, I just had my first "In Flight" test... for my PPL.. and I got it  ;)

Only one minor error : when doing power-on stalls with flaps, the aircraft had a tendency to roll a bit on one side.. and I wasn't really quick at avoiding it.. so we drifted a bit on the side one time...

I was a bit nervous... having someone from Transport Canada on the passenger seat.. but she was very friendly and everything went fine...

The only thing left to actually get my license is the written exam... and I'll do it next week...

I'm really proud of me... but I know I must continue to work hard to get my commercial(IFR, Multi, Night, etc)

I've got 44h so it's really ON-TIME for the 45hmin for the license, here in Canada..

Now I must convince my mom to come with me  :P for a small ride in a C172(She's a bit afraid of airplanes...)

Hey congratulations!  I know what yea mean having someone intimidating giving your test... the guy I flew with had 350 hours logged flying the SR-71 Blackbird.

Congratulations again on the success!  I recommend you take advantage of your private certificate before you start all gung-ho on your instrument rating.

Hey congrats on the flight test!  I just finished my written today, and im waiting for my flight test coming up soon.  Just got a few more cross countries to do, and some under the hood hours to build up.  Great job!  Was the flight test stressful at first?  What kinda stuff do they get you to do?

Congrats, and don't worry too much about losing your heading during power-on stalls... most examiners are just happy to return alive after those... ;D
Just another thing to practice after you get your certification- your "License to Learn"! ;D

Hey, congrats man!  I still have to wait six months before they'll even let me take the exam... I think they're afraid of me.

Lemme at em! ;D

Good job, enjoy the freedom to finally give rides ;)

When you rent, it's also much cheaper to bring a friend (and their wallet)... ;D

One thing you may want to do also is take advantage of flight following on as many flights as you can.

Hehe, okay, off topic, but I remember the first time I talked to Philly approach-I almost audibly giggled the first time I heard "Philly approach, American 162 with you, descending through 10,200 for 9,000".  I was like "dats a biiiig aeroplane, right mister?" ;D

Here's an update...
I've done my written test.. and got 93%... I was well prepared and it went well.

It's really different to have a friend or a family member on the side seat....(compared to an instructor)

I'm currently doing intrument hours to get my night flight. Next monday, I'm going up after the sunset for the first time in my life...

Last week, I came late from a cross contry flight and just for fun I turned the runway lights(ARCAL) ON... and it was really nice... It was about 7h30PM local.. still legal because the sun was still up.

I've taken a pic.. I'll post it as soon as I get home(working right now)

As far as things are going right now.. I really enjoy what I'm doing... that's definitly the best choice I made in my life(to learn to fly)

:D

edit : here's the pic as promised (I'm on the right with the DClark's... and my dad is on the left) We were over some forest in the Laurentian(Quebec, Canada) in a rented C172N

Bravo; good for you!! Isn't it great to take somebody for a spin? Especially someone who's supported and believed in you!! I made the mistake of choosing a date as my first passenger; believe it or not, she wasn't very impressed. She even asked me afterwards if we'd done it before..???!!! I was speechless, A: that she'd be so ditzy (didn't know her that well), and B: that this was the result of my first flight with a passenger as PIC!! I coulda died!! But man, was she pretty... made up for a lot. But not enough- I gave up on her... :P
I'm flying again tomorrow, just an hour in the pattern as my last flight had me showing some rust on my landings... also planning to catch a ride with our own Marco in his Cherokee... should be lots of pix from that since I won't be flying.  ;D

Good job llavalle, but I'm surprised you haven't gone up at night yet.  The PPL training for my school involves 10 night takeoffs and landings (1.5h minimum) and a night x-country.  Am I missing something ???
