Canada or South Africa

I want to continue my flying lessons which I started in Victoria, B.C. and I don't know what country to choose due to some confusing advice, so I'm here for any and all advice that can be given to me.
My problem is that I want to go back to my old school in B.C. but it costs a packet, the cheaper option is a flight school that my friend goes to in South Africa which is alot cheaper but doesn't seem to have enough aircraft for it's students. What do all think I should do?
By the way, I have over 35hrs Dual and 15hrs Solo (If that helps.). Thanks in advance.

Well look deeper into the schools. See which offers better maintenance and customer service. Fuel prices. Canada to South Africa is a big gap, so check what it would be like to live in each place, then pick the one you would like the best and the one that works into your life best!

Hope it helps.

Thank you Saratoga, that has been a help. Now I have to factor in fuel costs, which I admit I forgot. Just to add another spanner to the works; apart from converting my Canadian Student Permit (Flying) into a South African one, have I forgotten anything else?

Don't mind me asking. How do you have the option of opposite sides of the world? That's awesome.

Either way, converting your license, fuel, customer service, rental costs once you get the license and in training, living quality, living cost, how far can you take your training in the location, career options, and aircraft quality.

There are probably other things I just can't think of at the moment, there's some to consider though. Hope it helps. ;)

Hmm...never noticed that I had options on both sides of the world, earlier before I got my hours I had the choices of Canada, Australia, South Africa, and the US. What a mix. You see though, I'm British but living in Nepal, brought up throughout S. E. Asia, so I guess looking into studying/working at various countries doesn't faze me much any more. Thanks for your help again.

WOW! Quite the wonderful life in my opinion, get to see the world. Well like I said, it's really your opinion.

My suggestion would be to figure up the cost of say a month of flying in all your available places, then use that as a starting point and compare the other things about the location, housing and what not. And remember, the FBO or flight school will need a large rental fleet, eventually you will be way beyond that 172 and if your FBO doesn't have anything bigger, you are kinda screwed.

Thanks again for your advise Saratoga. I personally like Canada, got my hours there, and the school in South Africa has limited aircraft...off to make up my mind.
