Help please

Hi, its my birthday today and i got the best present EVER! ..... My first flying lesson :p which i take next week.

I really like it but im nervous about making big mistakes... any tips anyone?

I got my discovery flight on my 15th birthday, absolutely the best present as well (I was finally started on my future career) and I too was nervous about ****ing up. But alas, I had a great, great instructor and once I got up into the air, I immediately knew I was a natural.  All those things you were thinking about when you were on the ground?  Your are completely, 100% focused on what you are doing up in the air and forget all the worries you had.  Besides, ther's a CFI right next to you-what can go wrong?  I have now been taking lessons for 3 months, will solo on my 16th birthday and get my license on my 17th. It'll be fun, gaurenteed, have a blast  ;D

It's your first time...you will make mistakes, it's inevitable, and the instructor obviously knows this. It's his job to correct you  :D

Hi ALSA

I am not sure this is an introductory flight or your first logged hour of flight towards your private pilots licence.

Either way listen to the instructor and spend more time looking out the window than at the instruments.

You will enjoy the flight more by looking outside and controlling the aircraft by visual reference.

I don't know whether you have rode a bike or not but when the aircraft rolls left you lean left and when it rolls right tend to lean right.  Take some gum and above all don't be afraid to ask questions, don't worry about making a mistake and above all else have fun...enjoy it

at Dunkeswell airfield which is in devon? or somerset? (one of those im not sure. its only an introductory one but iff i do decide to take lessons, which i am, it will count towards the ppl.
