Help yourself learn more

I see a lot of questions about visual and instrument flying being asked in this forum, and that's what it's for. But do you know that there is huge amount of free information available from the FAA's website? Here are a couple of links that will take you to some great information:

www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/

www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbo ... /aviation/

The first one has a link to the "Airplane Flying Handbook" for those of you interested in learning more about visual flying.

The second has links to two instrument flying and procedures books, plus the Aeronautical Information Manual.

Load up your printer and print the chapters you need.

These are great references.

The FAA put a lot of effort into developing these handbooks over the past few years and they have really put together some good products. They're comprehensive, factually correct, and fairly well structured. They are nearly as good as the commercially available texts... but free!
