How Do I Calculate Flight Time?

Postby Griz_Nolan » Mon Oct 25, 2004 3:22 pm

I was wondering how flight hours are calculated. For example If I was to fly for 1 hour 12 minutes How would that be changed to Flight hours looking something like this 1.2 flight hours. I have noticed that is the format the flight hours would look like I just dont know how to calculate them.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

your correct. Every 6 minutes is 0.1 in flight time, or at least it is in flight sim.

Craig is absolutely correct and to help you further:

(1)  Jets for example an Airbus the time is started from push back from the gate.

(2)  Most other aircraft or helicopters that are not sitting at the gate waiting for a push back the time is started from engines on.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
