Trite to say, but I was both surprised and not too surprised to now read that Flight flopped. I know that Lockheed Martin now has the rights to the FSX and packages it as "Prepar3D", that's about it. Still giving FS2004 a solid workout here, it's best for my relatively-old PC while still having a rather impressive amount of third-party support, so I'm happy to stay with it for now.

FSX, for me, seems very impressive but also seems to require a God-class computer to run well, almost as if MS intended it that way. Granted, fidelity comes with a price, but yow. At least the third-party support with FSX is stellar.

Maybe in the future, there will be a more modern FS made by someone to parallel XPlane, et al, but I don't yet anticipate it. But returning to the subject at hand: with all the hype invested into Flight, only to at long last discover it had been reduced to the semblance of a game, it's just as well.
