The question is does it actually run MS Flight without Live? I am curious because a number of Steam games also require using the online system that the original game came with. For example games like the older Battlefield titles can be bought on Steam but also require sign in through the EA servers to play, essentially requiring a double log on. Have you tried the Steam version?

And for what its worth I would go Steam over Live any day.  8-)

A fair few military sims are also available on Steam too by the way  :)

the answer is no. i bought ms flight using my steam account. you still need to open windows live to integrate your stuff into the game.

I thought that would be the case... ::) The only advantage I can see to buying it on Steam is that they have a discount bundle of a few of the DLC items together.
