Choose your planes?

It's my understanding that MS is going to have you choose which planes you want for MSF?  I know I saw a Mustang, so I'm definitely going for that, if this is the case.  I like that idea.  I never fly the commercial jets, so they're really a waste to have for me.

It seems to me I suggested this same thing about ten years ago back in the day of FS2002 and everybody on the forum pretty much blasted it as being heretical.  I thought it only made sense.  :)

When you download Flight for free you get 1 plane & an island to fly around.

Then when you register you get a Stearman. If you want any more add-ons or scenery you have to buy them from Microsoft.

There will be no third-party development which means no downloads on Simv or any other sites.

So Alrot & other developers won't be making any planes for it.

from what I have read and heard, Flight isn't going to be too great. I am hoping everyone is wrong, and flight will make another nice addition to my computer.

But, if not, FSX is still really good!

I am probably going to pick up download flight, but im afraid I might only play it for a bit, might go to prepar3d or wait for the successor to the successor to the successor of flight. (thats MSF4 ;D)

I'm just going to say this. Flight doesn't seem like it's going to be any good.

I may be wrong but it's better to be pessimistic & be proven wrong that to get your hopes up & be let down.

That is exactly what I am trying to do for myself! It is just that I am REALLY hoping it will be better then what it has made itself to be out so far...

But oh well.. as I have said so far, FSX is still really good, and I am just finally starting to get it to work well on my PC now!

Once again, MS shows it's eternal greed.  Why have third party developers that will compete when you're going to sell the planes yourself.  When I suggested this way back when, that's not quite what I had in mind...

Seriously, if there are no third party add-ons, then forget it.  One of the biggest aspects of FS for me was that you could find almost any plane you wanted and fly it.  I don't see MSF having the equivalent of Simviation's FSX library and I don't feel like waiting and hoping for months or years for them to come out with that one rare plane no-one else has built.  Tell me where I can find a Laird Solution or a Keith Rider Special and I'll sign up right now.  Not everyone is a bus driver and not everyone flies military fighters.

For me, without third party, MSF is useless...   >:(

On Flights Facebook page they had to warn people if they use foul language the posts would be deleted. MS is in some way working on damage control. But listen, the real MCcoy hasn't been released yet, The beta testers know a bit more than most of us, yet they don't know every thing about Flight. We seem to be an angry mob with clubs and torches looking for a beast to slay. My club is in the shop getting polished, until I, personally try Flight. MS will take on so much flack for not including 3rd party developers it is quite possible they will change their tune in the near future.

If they really want to control sales and still get the most bang for there buck (bang being users  ;D) they [glow=yellow,2,300]SHOULD[/glow] allow 3rd party developers BUT have added bonuses if you buy from them (like a mission, new character skin, special name color, etc) but they won't, because they dont wanna have a bright future, they ONLY reason MSFS had the long 25 year life span is because of [glow=yellow,2,300]3RD PARTY[/glow]. In my words flight simulation is the ability to
[ch10003]The ability to fly
X The ability to fly anywhere with the initial purchase
[ch10003] The ability to crash
:-/ The ability to declare emergencies (not sure yet)
[ch10003] The ability to make 3rd Party [glow=yellow,2,300]FREEWARE[/glow]
So my Pre-Release Ranking would have to be 3.5/5 (7/10) Not too bad, but we haven't even seen the game yet.  ::) ::) :o :o ;D ;D :D :D ;) ;) :-/ :-/ :-X :-X :P :P

I have to assume that registering  consists of supplying MS with a credit card number!

Registering may or may not involve payment.

It won't include a credit card because all purchases will be done on the Windows Live Marketplace so you will pay with Microsoft Points. :)
