maybe when you are flying in northern canada you might come across a tu-95 being escorted by cf-18's or in alaska by f-15's
Carriers would be so mush easier to land on if they would just stop turning!!!

I'm thinking of, at a certain time, date, and place, that AI traffic replicates some of the world's air disasters, such as TWA flight 800, or American Airlines flight 191!!! And then have actual ATC recordings of the events that follow.
Maybe even have the space shuttle launch! :P
Or have police chases in the ground traffic. :D
Or have ship and boat traffic have their own disasters every once in a while...
Just some crazy ideas... ;D
I went outside once. The graphics weren't all that great.

Do you want your flight sim to become a slideshow?

Being window's "live', M$ could probably "inject" events on certain date, as suggested (Though some air disasters may not be a first choice).

events like 9/11 and tsunamis the earthquake at Haiti,...

These will never and should never be included with any release of any sim ever.

Though I agree that events of that magnitude and events that specific shouldn't occur, I wouldn't put it past them to make some extreme weather cases. Having to avoid an airport and divert because it's too dangerous to land there (perhaps even hidden beneath snow or water) would be an interesting concept.

Yet again, we'd need trusty ATC to actually tell us that we can't do certain things and to re-route us. Just because I select 'Fly from A to B' does not mean I can actually do it. The ATC should make sure you avoid all the nasty weather patterns, re-route you to new airports and just be smarter and more life like. Instead of saying 'left to 180 land at Y', it should be like 'we have a severe weather warning in your area, as a result we are redirecting traffic to Y. Expect heavy traffic in this area as all other major airports are unsuitable for landing'. I don't know the exact lingo, but a chatty, realistic, personality would be nice!

Understood, Machineman.  Unfortunately, in the real world, ATC doesn't have much to do with that.  Of course, they'll redirect you around the worst weather.  But the pilot in command is expected (also required) to set their route with current weather predictions in mind.  So if you are flying to Rio, and the weather there is supposed to be hurricane strength, you might want to consider landing at an airport a ways away, or taking the flight on an alternate day.
