Aileron/Rudder Trim Axis

Hi all

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to add trim axis for rudder and ailerons? Maybe a config edit, or a mod that adds these?
I use a G940 and would love to be able to assign the trim wheels on it to these functions. The game supports elevator trim axis, but none for rudder/ailerons :'(

I did a search, but only came up with people asking the same thing. They were old though, from 2009. I didn't find anything recent, so not sure if this has ever been figured out or not. I'm hoping it has, of course.

I dont have the 940. I'm using cougar.
But, cant you point the rudder axis, under control axis, to the throttle R2? (i think it is, not that clear on the picture)
I did mine to the ant elev on cougar.

Thanks, but that isn't what I mean.
The G940 has three trim wheels on the joystick base. Trim 1, Trim 2 and Trim 3.
I have the Trim 1 wheel set to  Elevator Trim set in the game, since the game has an Elevator Trim Axis assignment in the controls menu.
I would like to set aileron trim to Trim 2 and rudder trim to Trim 2, but the games controls menu doesn't have an Aileron Trim Axis or Rudder Trim Axis. The game only has Elevator Trim Axis so no problem setting that to my Trim 1 wheel on my stick.

Rudder Trim and Aileron Trim can only be set to keys in the games controls menu. There is no Axis for them, like there is the Elevator Trim. Elevator Trim has both, the option to use an Axis or keys.

I am hoping there is a mod or config edit that adds Aileron Trim Axis and Rudder Trim Axis, but haven't came across one yet.

So, if someones knows of a either a mod or a config edit, please share it :)

Typo. That should be; rudder trim to Trim 3
But I imagine you all probably knew I meant that.

Anyway, since no one replied with a solution, it is impossible to do(?). I take it there is no mod or config hack that can add in rudder/aileron trim axises to the game then

Surely you can assign it them to an axis, I have spoiler on an axis so why couldn't the trims be assigned - but! is it not also possible that the aircraft doesn't have the trims in the first place?

Dave? you use sdk a lot, does it show any reason in there why not?

These are things I'm going to experiment with soon, brother in law bought me a rat 7 mouse for christmas

Yeah the game has a number of Axes assignments listed, but none for Rudder trim or Aileron trim :-/

It wouldn't matter it a plane doesn't have rudder/aileron trims. If there was assignemtn slots in the Control Axes menu they could be assigned, but planes that don't have rudder/aileron trim, it wouldn't work in them. Like would be the case with your spoilers. Nothing would happen in a Piper J3 when you used the Spoiler axes you have setup, for example.

Another option might be the Joy2Key or Xpadder things. Years ago I used one of these to make TrackIR work in F1C. And I used Xpadder to make my G25 work in Grand Theft Auto 4 (but a game update broke it). I just now thought about these things and one of them may work, since FSX does have key assignments for both rudder and aileron trim.

I got 26 axis in axis control i can put on my sticks!
Rudder and aileron is among.
But as you said, thats not what you meant.

Correct. I too have rudder and aileron axes in the games controls. And have them assign to my joystick and my rudder pedals. But I was hoping I could have trims for both assigned too. I haven't tried the Xpadder thing, but may sometime soon.

Per Logitech:

"

Flight Simulator X does not support analog aileron or rudder control. You cannot use the G940 trim dials for aileron or rudder functionality.

To use the G940 with aileron or rudder controls, assign them to a button or directional pad on the G940."

Yeah, I think that will be the only option for the trims, since it can't be modded in. Xpadder probably will not work, or not proportionally anyway. It may make something happen, but it would probably be sporadic at best. I remember trying it with a boat racing game some time back with my G25. It was completely uncontrolable and could not be fixed to work at all. I imagine FSX would likely be the same. Probably not worth the effort of trying it.
BUT, it may work if I tried it like some are doing with FSUIPC,,, maybe. But I don't think it has the features it would need, like the full version of FSUIPC has.

Too bad there wasn't an FS11, because rudder/aileron trims axes likely would have been in it, since controls systems have advanced so much since FSX.

I want to think that it may be possible, of sourts, by going into the simconnect SDK and programming a gauge of sorts to convert the G940's auxiliary analog trim to FSX's,  button presses.  That, however, is way beyond my understanding of those spells and incantations.
